Nella penultima pagina (per chi non conosce l'inglese) c'è scritto, nelle lettere che lei sta leggendo: "Come può una donna resistere da sola nella continua minaccia della natura selvaggia? Non sei spaventata? Non ti senti sola?" e nell'ultima pagina "Vorresti dire a tutti che non sei ma stata sola, lì fuori. Neppure una volta."
